Robert Koning - Founder and CEO
Robert Koning has been involved in the construction industry for over 40 years. Beyond that, the Koning family’s involvement in the industry dates back to the 1950s. He has received numerous awards, degrees, and licenses from various accredited sources, solidifying his reputation of good workmanship and safety-conscious construction. Mr. Koning is also the director and lead instructor at the Contractors Institute, which promotes quality construction education. As such, Mr. Koning has both an indispensable knowledge of ever-advancing products, methods, and standards, and discernment against persistent myths and outdated requirements.
Andrew Schrader - Senior Consultant and Testifying Expert
Mr. Schrader's background encompasses working as a consulting engineer on building envelope, construction defect, building code application, and forensic engineering projects, as well as service to the State of Florida and the United States as an Urban Search and Rescue Structures Specialist.
Regarding construction and envelope issues, he has designed and managed projects on structures composed of structural steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, wood framing, and re-roofing. In addition, his responsibilities have included the production of structural surveys, project manuals, bid documents, permit documents, and shop drawing reviews.
Regarding the building code and forensic engineering, he typically is called upon to investigate how structures should have been built in accordance with the building codes in effect at the time of design and/or construction.
Jason Stevenson - Environmental Scientist & State Certified Building Contractor
Jason (Jay) Stevenson holds a degree in Environmental Science from the University of South Florida and is a State Certified Building Contractor. With over 18 years of experience at Koning Construction Consultants, Jay specializes in Building Science, Environmental Site Conditions, and ingress/egress evaluations, including trip and fall assessments.
Combining his deep knowledge of structural and environmental systems, Jay provides thorough, precise analysis for complex projects. As a Part 107 Certified Drone Operator, he leverages advanced aerial technology to deliver comprehensive site inspections and data collection.
Steven Wetzel - Consulting Technician - Project Manager
Steven Wetzel has trade experience in both plumbing and HVAC. He is also an instructor and proctor for Contractors Institute School of Construction. Mr. Wetzel assists Mr. Koning in compiling and analyzing case information.

Mark Stevenson - Consultant
Mark Stevenson has known and worked with Robert Koning in the construction field for almost 40 years. He has earned qualifications in multiple areas covering construction and construction safety. Mr. Stevenson supervised, inspected, and coordinated repair work for the majority of his career, until joining Koning Construction Consultants in 2007.
Charlie Murrell - Consulting Technician
Charlie Murrell has worked in construction of all types of buildings, ranging from stadiums and hospitals, to schools and university buildings, to homes and condominiums. He has 36 years of experience in the roofing field, in both supervisory and inspection roles.
Debbie Renner - Office Administrator
Debbie Renner assists with Mr. Koning billing, scheduling, document review, and other administrative tasks.
